In October, students from Canon McMillan High School's Family and
Community Studies class came to serve a meal they had prepared for our Feed My Sheep
Dining Room. Kim Johovich, a teacher in the Department of Family and Consumer
Sciences, has been teaching this course for the past few years.
In one class segment that focuses on hunger in America, Kim's
students prepare a meal and bring it to City
Mission. She teaches the students to budget for the meal they prepare, assess the nutritional value and calculate the
actual size of an individual serving. Then, the students prepare and serve the meal. Thank you,
Canon McMillan students!
